How to Play Football
The game of football also known as soccer is a game made up of 11 players.
Games can be as long as 90 minutes and a half time of 45 minutes. There
are yellow cards and red cards for off sides penalty's and fouls.
The positions are goalie defender midfielder and striker. The goalies roll is to try
to save the ball getting into your goal. The defender tackles the ball off the oppositions
strikers. Midfielders support the defenders and strikers.Once the midfielders pass the
ball up to the strikers its time for the players up front to take there best shot a goal.
When shooting a goal if you get the ball in you go back to half way and the oppositions
to start again with the ball therefore the ball has to get kicked forward. If the goalie on the
other team saves the ball he kicks the ball down the field as far as possible.however if the
goalie try's to save the ball touches it but it misses and goes out the ref will call for a
corner.when a corner happens the ball is played in from the corner of the field. If the
ball goes in it a goal but if the oppositions get the ball they can dribble the ball down the
the field and try score in there goal. You may of heard of an own goal an own goal is when
you score in your own goal and the ref allows it.
Throw ins. Throw ins are when a player kicks the ball over the sideline therefore the player on
the opposite team throws the the ball back in with two hands on the ball and both feet on the
ground. If your feet are not on the ground you get given a foul though and you have to take it
again.
Once the game has finished you congragulate your team on trying there best and then in
a line you go and shake the other teams hands
I hope I have inspired you to go and play soccer, its a cheap sport and you can
have a heap of fun so have a go!
Make sure you always upload your WALT and S.C Alex. These can be found on the class wiki. Excellent introduction stating what you are going to include in your explanation, but then you don't talk about all of that!! Good conclusion that summarises your explanation. You have begun to use cause and effect words in your writing , you now need to try to use these more. Excellent use of technical words and action verbs relating to football. Miss Crone :)
